Grand Motets

The grand motet is one of the most important religious forms of French baroque music from the 17th and 18th centuries. The word grand being necessary to distinguish the style from it's smaller counterpart, which often only featured 1 or 2 instruments. The most famous example is perhaps the 'Eurovision' theme – Charpentier's "Te Deum".
