It is a great pleasure to curate a playlist of recordings by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. You will hear music by composers with whom our orchestra had and has a special connection, such as Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss, as well as a piece by the (young) Dutch composer Joey Roukens, which we commissioned for the Leonard Bernstein centennial in 2018. All the performances will give you an idea of our orchestra’s musicality and stylistic flexibility in a wide range of repertoire.
