About this playlist
Famous enough to be known by his first name alone, the Franco-Flemish Josquin produced some of the most enduring and beautiful music of the Renaissance era. A member of the Vatican's Papal Choir, he's rumoured to have graffitied a wall in the Sistine Chapel with one of his works, and as a composer of both religious and secular music, he enjoyed a reputation as an artist and satirist, masterfully combining memorable melodies with clever lyrics.
