Les Agrémens

The chamber ensemble Les Agrémens was formed in 1995 in Namur, Belgium and specialises in Baroque and Classical music. Also known as Namur Baroque Orchestra, Les Agrémens strives to maintain the highest quality in performance, working with consistently high calibre musicians and conductors of international renown.

Les Agrémens also attempts to nurture the next generation of young professional instrumentalists by giving them a solid historical performance practice opportunity at an early stage in their career.

Les Agrémens gave their inaugural concert in 1995 with a programme of works by George Frideric Handel, conducted by Pierre Cao and garnered extremely positive critical acclaim. The ensemble regularly joins forces with the Namur Chamber Choir and has become renowned for its renditions of large scale works for choir and orchestra such as Johann Sebastian Bach's St John's Passion and St. Matthew's Passion.

Les Agrémens have made many recordings with the label Ricercar, which include works of Johann Christian Bach as well as many leading Walloon composers of 18th century Paris, such as Gossec and Grétry.
